Lazy workers and pharmacy

Lazy nurses that kept my wife in the er for an extra 4 hours to see how she would be after the benadryl wore off... they forgot to give her the benadryl all together and then right as we were being discharged they finally sent the pharmacy an order for epi pen..... we get to pharmacy they say 15 to 20 mins which i thought was hularious cause its literally a needle pre packsged that thy put in a bag.... 65mins later we finally left without the epi pen. Laziest most procrastinating workers ive ever encountered. They even have nurses who are only responsible for 1 patient at a time and still just talk away at the desk with other employees instead of giving the benadryl they were supposed to and keeping her for an extra 4 hours of ER to see how she responded after it wore off when they never gave it to her at all. And ohh yeah this was an allergic reaction to a bee sting and are finally after keeping her here for 8 hours send the order to pharmacy knowing from the get go she would need one... what a joke.

Bullied into unnecessary surgery!!

Went into the ER with pain. First the ER people didn't believe my pain and left me to wait many many hours while I vomited violently from the pain. Finally, a doctor saw me and I was moved into my own room. They gave me an ultrasound and said it was inconclusive.... then they said they were going to remove my gallbladder. I didn't want to do the surgery! They sent in this heavy set lady that told me I could die if I didn't have the surgery. She went on and on talking about all the horrible things that would happen if I didn't get the surgery. She did enough to scare my husband and I into reluctantly agreeing to the surgery. The told my husband it was routine. They told my husband that he would only have to wait 30 minutes. I left my husband waiting in the room and took me to surgery. The person pushing me to the OR got lost along the way. They had complications with the surgery. Apparently through their negligence my gallbladder burst. The surgery took over two hours. Nobody even took the time to update my husband. Here I am more than 10 weeks later after more than three courses of anabiotics... and I am still not well. This was an unnecessary surgery! The pain that I went in for originally is still there. Now I have all this other pain from the surgery that they definitely did improperly. And to make matters worse, I now have this huge bill. Did I mention that I don't have a job. My husband's insurance only covers so much. They expect me to make Huge $225 monthly payments.... I DONT HAVE A JOB! How can I work when this surgery almost crippled me! I can't even pick up a gallon of milk because of the pain!! The nurses are not nice. The doctors are incompetent. And everybody in the billing department... well, let's just say I hope you have the same fate that you gave me.

No money for medical help

Wasn’t told they don’t take Medicare prior to apt. They took Medicare info. Seen 5 other specialist but can’t go there. Only folks w/money- middle class working people can’t get special care!

A Person could die beforde a referral.

I called Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN, for an appointment with a surgeon, due to a terrible pain in my back. I was promptly notified that I would need a referral before I could see a doctor. Therefore, I contacted my provider at Mayo Clinic at Austin MN. I was given an appointment for this referral 28 days later. So I have to suffer with this pain. For 28 days, If this was a more serious situation, I could die before getting this referral . I am seriously looking for a new provider I think Mayo has really gone down hill . Or to be more clear all they are interested in is making money. Two appointments instead of one? They Suck

Difficulty getting a referral is usually the fault of the PCP or the insurance company. I verified insurance at a hospital for years (not Mayo) and it can be like pulling teeth trying to get some insurance companies to give the referral....

Your first mistake was going to the greedy patient care lacking mayo clinic. Monopolized the whole area and when called out by Dr.

Kumar about it, he was fired. Doctors don't stay because they're treated like *** and told to push patients through.

Doctors don't read charts before you come in so you have to repeat yourself multiple times. Go to Olmstead or Minneapolis...you will be treated better!

Refused service due to Cobra coverage.

Had appointment for consultation for vascular surgery. Waited over 2 months and my insurance was being changed to Cobra coverage and because of that they said I was considered self pay and must pay $5000 to be seen at all. My coverage would be retroactive and advised them of that and that it was a in network facility and they would have to get pre auth before any surgery anyway. Not willing to help or understand. Complete waste of time and harrasment.

Initial care vs after care

My initial care, including chemo and radiation with my care team was excellent. However, after care has been horrible. It takes days to get a response if at all, my med refills are delayed every month to yhe point i am going 3 to 5 days with no meds. Meds that are dangerous and potentially life threatening to stop abruptly. The care team has new members that are not at all concerned with managing my pain and refer to it as discomfort if i get an apology at all. I am very unhappy with mayo.

"Emergency" ?? room

My son got hit in the face and cut his chin while sledding. He was taken to Austin MN "ER." It took me almost an hour to get there. I found him still crying in the waiting room holding a dirty fast food napkin from the floor of the car on his wound. No ice pack, no pain management, no sterile gauze. Needless to say, we left and went to St Mary's. I did submit a formal complaint, but never heard anything back.

Scheduling appointments

Have not recieved call to schedule my son's annual neurology appointment, and I have been trying for the last two weeks to schedule. His neurologist retired last year and new doctor and staff have not accommodated us, with our illnesses and family situation to book his necessary appointments.

To the original poster. We all know the Mayo has people watching and posting to prevent negative posts from gaining traction.

Keep your cool. The docs there were good to me. Believe it or not it is the complaint department trying to do me dirty. That said, every hospital in the world has docs who strong arm.

People should be very nervous going into any medical practice with NO negative reviews. That practice likely has a hit squad such as the Mayo’s.

Food service line jacksonville

1:15 pm lunch time. Cashier line backed up to rear ir beginning of e trance. Only one cashier on duty. Many patients in wheelchairs. Many eldery with difficulty stsnding with trays. The one cashier is directing some of the elderly around to the other side saying ther is no waiting. The line there is just as long, confusing these people on what to do next.

The food does appear to be appetizing. At times the salad bar appears to be fresh.

That is an incorrect assumption. For the last 2 1/2 years my caregivers my family and I have found the food to be terrible. Have found flies in the salad bar. Staff did not change out the tray of the greens only removed a handful where they thought the fly might have been.

Most of the time people are in different to your questions your request customer service is nonexistent.

But they’re always smiling. The food is just bad what are you doing in here today what are you know I didn’t say you could come in here

Mayo Clinic Florida Number ONE?

On what standards? The clinic has a ranking system! The richer you are (check your donations) the better the care! On Medicare ( the American version of a death sentence), the lower the attention, professional care and compassion and the more distinct philosophy of Patch up and ship out, but make sure you charge, charge, charge, etc. I.E. An ambulance to transport me home 22 miles because I was "too sick" to be picked up by the courtesy van of the less than a half a mile away and so very much more safe hotel. Hmmm, 22 miles to avert a crisis versus 0.20 miles to come to the rescue! Go figure! Oh yes, I just did figure: It's the OLD CASH COW! Charge! Charge! Charge! The Mayo Brothers are still heroes whose mission of every human being's right to a dignified life is now so horribly twisted.

I have incurable cancer and came to the Mayo Clinic for a second opinion. They did nothing but agree with the original diagnosis and said there was nothing they could do for me, then stuck me with a $2500 bill that insurance wouldn't pay. I am not a wealthy person so I...
